Dollar Tree Vase Review Under $10 – Worth It or Not?
Where to buy: Dollar Tree Logistics
Rating: ⭐⭐⭐⭐ (4/5)
What I liked:
For five dollars, I was not expecting anything special. Most things at Dollar Tree feel cheap to me. But this vase was different. When I picked it up, I noticed the glass is thick. It has weight. It does not feel like those thin plastic things you usually see for five bucks. I tapped it with my finger and it made a solid sound. Not hollow. Not like it would break if I looked at it wrong.
I looked at a few other vases at the same store. Some were thin and very light. This one felt better in my hand. I cannot explain it. It just felt like someone actually cared when they made it. That probably sounds funny for a five dollar vase. But that is truly how I felt standing there in the store.
The ribbed texture is something I really like. The vertical ridges catch light in a pretty way. I put the vase near my living room window. In the mornings, sunlight hits those ridges and makes soft shadows on my table. From just a few feet away, the vase looks kind of elegant. Not bad for five dollars at all.
Another small thing I noticed – the texture makes the vase easier to hold. My fingers do not slip. I have other vases at home that are smooth. When they get wet, they feel slippery. This one does not have that problem. The ridges give me a good grip. That is a small win.
Cleaning is easy too. I run warm water inside with a little dish soap. Then I shake it. Then I rinse it. That is it. You cannot fit your hand inside because the opening is narrow. But you do not need to. The water and soap do the work. I have cleaned this vase three times now. Each time took less than two minutes. No scrubbing at all.
I tried this vase in different rooms of my home. On my nightstand with one small flower – it looked good. On my desk with some dried branches – it looked good. On my kitchen windowsill next to a small plant – it fit right in. The clear glass helps because it does not clash with anything. Whatever color your walls are, clear glass just works. You do not have to match anything.
The size is about 6 inches tall. That is small. But for me, that is actually a good thing. I live in a small apartment. A big vase would take up too much space. This one fits on a crowded shelf or a tiny corner of my desk. I used to keep nothing in that corner. Now that corner looks better. So the small size works for my small space.
What I did not like:
Okay, the opening is my main problem. It is narrow. Only about 1.5 inches wide. You cannot put a big bouquet of flowers inside. I tried putting three medium stems together. Too crowded. Even two thicker stems felt tight. This vase really only works with one or two thin stems. Or dried branches like lavender or eucalyptus.
I learned this the hard way honestly. I bought a small bunch of flowers at the grocery store. Only two of them fit. The rest had to go into a different vase. So if you love big, full flower arrangements, skip this vase. It is not for you.
Also, the bottom is a little uneven. When I put it on my table, it wobbled. Just a tiny bit. But enough to notice. I folded a small piece of paper and put it under one side. That fixed the wobble. Not a big deal for five dollars. I used a piece of cardboard from a cereal box. You cannot even see it under the vase. Problem solved.
Another thing – it is small. I already said I like the small size for my apartment. But I want to be honest. If you want something big and dramatic, this is not for you. I tried putting it on my living room floor next to a chair. It looked lost. Too small. On a table, it looked right. On the floor, it looked wrong. So keep it on a surface.
And yes, it is glass. So if you drop it on a hard floor, it will break. I almost knocked mine off my desk once. I caught it just in time. My heart stopped for a second. So just be careful where you put it. Keep it away from edges. Or put it on a soft rug. That is what I do now.
Would I buy it again?
Yes. I am actually thinking about getting two more. One for my bedroom, one for my living room, and one for my home office. For five bucks each, why not?
Who should buy this:
If you live in a small apartment or have limited space and want a cheap vase that does not look cheap, buy this one. Just know it only holds one or two thin stems.
Final verdict:
This Dollar Tree vase is worth five dollars. It looks clean and simple. The glass feels solid. The ribbed texture is nice. The opening is narrow and it is small. But for five dollars? Those are small problems to me. If you need a cheap vase for a small space, get this one. Just do not expect to put a big bouquet in it. One stem or two thin stems. That is all it holds. For that purpose, it works great for me.
